ABOUT THE VENUE
Available for rental by artists, concert promoters, and community groups throughout Ontario, The Roxy seats 400 people in rich, red-padded seats. Built circa 1913, the soft-seat theatre is air-conditioned, wheelchair-accessible, features state-of-the-art acoustics, a grand lobby and a licensed bar.
As the only purpose-built theatre in Grey and Bruce counties with a stadium license endorsement, patrons can bring alcoholic beverages directly to their seats. While this is included with all rentals, it’s only offered to events in which the majority of patrons are aged 19 or older.
The angled floor ensures excellent stage visibility from every seat. The Roxy also offers complimentary assistive listening devices which can be provided if the box office is notified at least 48 hours prior to an event.
There are three wheelchair spaces at centre rear which, if necessary, can be transformed into space for a sound board. There are another three wheelchair spaces at the front of the theatre on stage left which, if necessary, are removable to accommodate a pit band.
Artists receive exclusive access to a large Green Room with up to six separate dressing areas partitioned by curtains, a makeup room, full-size lockers, and a private bathroom and shower facility just off of The Roxy’s work room. A private staircase from the makeup room leads performers directly to the stage, and there is an elevator in the lobby that takes artists directly to the Green Room.
