7 Stories

7 Stories

Directed by: Gerrard Morrison
Play by: Morris Panych

7 Stories is a fast-paced, dark comedy, full of eccentric characters trying to escape their limitations and realities. It takes place on a seventh story ledge, where a man is contemplating life and struggling to find meaning in his existence. The “Man” is endlessly interrupted by a variety of quirky people, and reluctantly becomes drawn into the absurdity of their lives. These “neighbours” are so self-absorbed that they don’t even bother to ask why he’s out there in the first place. This quick-witted, sophisticated satire will have you pondering life and death, right up to its “leap of faith” conclusion.

Janet has been a member of OSLT since the 1990’s, at which time she also partnered with the Health Unit to create a senior’s theatre troupe who wrote and performed two travelling shows addressing senior’s issues. At the Roxy, she has worked onstage, backstage and on the Membership committee. She is now often seen ushering and selling 50/50 tickets. Working with this exceptionally talented cast and crew has been a blast. Thanks to Gerrard for his creative vision.

Catherine Tilley

Nurse Wilson

Catherine, a long time member of OSLT always enjoys working on a production. As Head of Wardrobe she has focused on costumes for the last few plays but is looking forward to being out front again and playing a character who is alive. You last saw her in Please No Flowers, West Moon and Spamalot. Many thanks to Gerrard, the wonderful cast and crew and her husband who puts up with her wandering about the house muttering her lines. She hopes you enjoy the show.

After many years away from performing, this brilliant cast and crew has rekindled her love of the art and even let her nerd out about symbolism.
