Come From Away Auditions

Opening November 5, 2026

Director: Kathleen Cassidy

Musical Directors: Gord & Emma McConachie-Anderson

Choreographer: Paula Mercer

Auditions for OSLT’s November production of Come From Away are coming in May.  People wishing to audition should request an audition spot and take a look at the information given below to prepare for the audition.

Come From Away was written for a cast of 12 with all actors playing multiple roles, both locals and “come from aways”, underlining the metaphor that any of us could one day need help – or be the one in the position to offer it.

Director Kathleen Cassidy, Music Directors Emma and Gord McConachie-Anderson and Choreographer Paula Mercer are looking forward to meeting everyone at the auditions. We will try to make your experience as enjoyable as possible!

Please read all audition information carefully before signing up for a slot. Audition Forms are available to download at the bottom of the page.

Character Breakdown

Dramatic Sides

Everyone in your audition slot will arrive at the same time. Rehearsal schedules and audition forms can be filled out ahead of time or will be available to fill out 15 minutes before the auditions begin.

After a brief introduction, we will do some group movement of bodies and chairs and a few simple dance steps, then you may take some time to go over the reading from the play in a group while each person sings alone. Then we will come together again to read the Dramatic Side several times allowing everyone to read all the parts they wish to read.

Please come dressed in comfortable clothes and shoes and be prepared to stay for the full 3 hours.

You may be asked to return on Thursday, May 14 at 6:30 – 9:30 for a Call Back Audition.  New music and sides will be provided in advance.
