Code of Conduct
The Owen Sound Little Theatre/The Roxy is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all. We pledge to treat everyone who enters our theatre with dignity and respect, and we ask the same in return from our visitors—whether in person or online.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination or harassment of any kind. This includes, but is not limited to, discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, creed, gender identity, age, physical, mental, or developmental disability, marital status, sexual orientation, political beliefs, or any other protected characteristic.

Health & Safety
Being in the theatre is a personal choice for patrons, guests, and participants. While we take every reasonable measure to maintain cleanliness and safety, we cannot guarantee that all surfaces will be sanitized at all times. Visitors assume responsibility for their own health and well-being.
By attending our theatre, you agree to uphold these standards and contribute to a respectful and enjoyable environment for all.
Ticket Exchanges or Refunds
  • OSLT/Roxy Young Company/Roxy Star Company Productions: Tickets may be exchanged for another performance of the same production, subject to availability. A $1.00 fee per ticket applies, and exchanges must be requested in advance.
  • Single-Night Events: All sales are final. No refunds or exchanges for fundraisers, Roxy rentals, Roxy Presents performances, or children’s performances.
  • Weather-Related Cancellations: No refunds or exchanges due to weather or road conditions unless the OPP close major highways within two hours of showtime. If an event is cancelled, tickets may be exchanged for a rescheduled date if available. If the event is not cancelled and the highways are officially closed, a refund may be issued upon request.
General Ticketing Policies
  • Tickets are not held or reserved – seats are sold only after full payment.
  • Ticket prices may fluctuate due to promotions or sales. Refunds or credits will not be given for price differences after purchase.
  • All sales are in Canadian dollars.
Theatre Etiquette & Accessibility
  • Late arrivals may be seated at management’s discretion to minimize disruptions.
  • Cell phones, pagers, cameras, and recording devices must be turned off. Repeat violations may result in removal without a refund.
  • The Roxy is a smoke-free and scent-free facility.
  • Children under 2 (“babes in arms”) may share a parent’s seat but must have a ticket as per fire regulations. Not all events allow babes in arms – please check with the Box Office.
  • Age Definitions:
    • Youth: 18 years or younger
    • Senior: 60 years or older
  • Accessibility: At least three wheelchair-accessible spaces with adjacent companion seats are reserved for each performance. Unclaimed seats may be released to the public 48 hours before the show.

Young Company/Star Company Registration & Refund Policy
  • Program fees are processed through the OSLT/Roxy ticketing system and must be paid in advance.
  • No refunds or credits for cancellations or absences within two weeks of the program start date.
  • Cancellations made at least two weeks in advance will receive a refund minus a $25 cancellation fee.
  • No make-up days for missed sessions.
  • No prorated fees for missed days, including snow days.
Members and Volunteers Criminal Reference Check Policy
The Owen Sound Little Theatre (OSLT) reserves the right to request a completed and satisfactory criminal reference check from any or all members. This measure ensures the safety and security of individuals and property on its premises and under its care. This policy applies to all individuals seeking membership with OSLT. Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act Policies

The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) became law in 2005. This landmark legislation developed accessibility standards aimed at identifying, removing, and preventing barriers for individuals with disabilities in key areas of daily living. What is Personal Information?

Personal information includes any details that can be used to identify or contact an individual, such as names, addresses, and opinions. However, business contact information and publicly available details (e.g., names and phone numbers in directories) are not considered personal information. If
someone uses their home contact details for business purposes, those details are treated as business contact information and are not subject to privacy protection.

How We Protect Your Information

  • Access is limited to authorized personnel who need the information for its intended purpose.
  • Safeguards are in place to prevent unauthorized sharing, loss, or destruction.
  • We provide individuals with the option to opt out of any additional uses beyond the original purpose.

Participation Policy
In agreeing to participate in programs and events at The Roxy or any related program rental spaces, you agree to the following terms:
Liability Waiver
Owen Sound Little Theatre (The Roxy) is not liable for any loss, injury, or death resulting from participation in our programs or events. By participating, you agree to waive your right to take legal action against:
  • The Roxy Theatre
  • Owen Sound Little Theatre
  • Staff, Board of Directors, volunteers, and contractors

This waiver applies to any claims related to loss, injury, or death arising from participation in our programs or events.

Media Release
By participating, you authorize The Roxy/OSLT to capture and use photographs, video recordings, slides, and participant comments for promotional purposes. These may be used on The Roxy website, social media platforms, and other marketing materials.
If you have concerns about media use, please contact us before participating.
