The Prom

Four fading Broadway stars are in desperate need of a new stage, so when they hear that trouble is brewing around a small-town Indiana prom—and the press is involved—they know that it’s time to put a spotlight on the issue…and themselves. The town’s parents want to keep the dance on the straight and narrow—but when one student just wants to bring her girlfriend to the prom the entire town has a date with destiny. Now, Broadway’s brassiest are coming to join the fight and they are ready to kick-ball-change the world.

CREW

Corry Lapointe Director
Over 57 years with OSLT, Corry’s creative expression was realized mostly on stage, resulting in  numerous acting awards in WODL, THEATRE ONTARIO AND DOMINION DRAMA Festivals. Now in her ‘mature’ years, with fewer roles for women her age, (unless someone directs Driving Miss Daisy), Corry’s creative expression is realized as a director. Over the past 10 years, she has directed OSLT hits such as The Donnellys, Calendar Girls, The Miracle Worker, Sister Act, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. She enjoys the role of the Director, much more than she anticipated, because like portraying a character to tell a story, the director gets to tell the story through a cast of characters and a crew of artists, and The Prom‘s company is among the best of them. Thank you to all of you for lending your extraordinary talents to tell the story of PROM.

Don Buchanan Musical Director
Don is always pleased to collaborate with Corry once again. He is so proud of the talented cast and crew for their work to create this wonderful piece of entertainment. It has been an honour to be part of this brilliant production.

Heather Hunter Choreography
Heather began dancing at an early age, training in ballet, tap and jazz. She has appeared in various musicals including Chicago, The Drowsy Chaperone and Sweet Charity. She has choreographed for theatres in Canada and as well in Mexico, where she established a charity devoted to giving girls the opportunity to realize the amazing joy of dance.

On stage, she has played minor roles in The King and I, Outer Space, and The Devil’s Disciple. Stage managing for many productions, both musicals and dramas, is always a unique experience. Working with a wonderfully talented director, a great production team and an amazing cast is a privilege. Enjoy the music and the message.

Cathie Locke Producer
Working with Corry as the director and Lisa as the stage manager never disappoints. Once again under their leadership, the cast and crew has created a wonderful production of a love story. Enjoy.

Excited to be part of this team of creative and devoted people to bring the message of acceptance.
“Thanks to my husband, Dave, and my family for their support.”

the challenge. She credits Marian Masters and Larry Henry for introducing her
to the art of makeup.

Kasey Williams Hair Design/Hair Team Co-Lead

Matt has worked on many OSLT musicals as the master of the microphones.  Many people believe that being in charge of 25 microphones is hard work but Matt believes that the actual hard work is being done by the talented actors on the stage.
