Mondays, April 13–June 8, 2015


An eight-week acting class covering the building blocks of theatre and stagecraft

for ages 18 to 88. Learn the basic skills of the acting process including acting & reacting and accepting & building. No previous acting experience needed – laughter, creativity and community-spirit welcome.



Mondays, starting April 13 – June 8, 2015 (there will be no class on Victoria Day, May 18)


3-5pm at The Roxy Theatre

$50 for members

$70 for non-members


Class Size: minimum 8 participants, maximum 20
Instructor: Heather Davies

Heather recently moved to Owen Sound and works as a theatre director, writer and arts educator. Equally comfortable with directing classics, new writing and musical theatre, Heather’s teaching and directorial credits span across North America, the UK and Germany. Filling a variety of directing roles Heather has worked with many theatre companies including: the Stratford Festival, The Grand Theatre and The Royal Shakespeare Company. After living in the UK for nearly 20 years, she returned to Canada in 2007 to gain her MFA in Theatre (York Univ.), before joining The Grand Theatre, (London, ON) as their Artistic Associate for two seasons. She is alumni of the Michael Langham Program for Classical Direction at the Stratford Festival, (2011, 2012). Recent productions include Ring of Fire: the music of Johnny Cash, Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Calendar Girls and Macbeth (The Grand, London, ON), her own stage adaptation of the Canadian novel Judith, with music by Murray Foster from Great Big Sea (Springworks, Stratford, ON), Mame and Babes in Arms in the UK, and Shirley Valentine (Persephone Theatre, Saskatoon).
