Two world-renowned musicians join their considerable talents to present a program of music from the 17th century to the 21st . . . Georg Philipp Telemann to Christos Hatzis, in unique arrangements for the flute and marimba. “Rhythm and sweetness in a beautiful blend.”
Beverley Johnston is one of Canada’s top percussionists. For many years, she has commissioned and performed works by leading Canadian composers and some of these works have become a staple of the world’s percussion repertory. In honour of her commitment to the performance of Canadian composers, she has been awarded the distinction of “Canadian Music Centre Ambassador.” Beverley Johnston currently teaches at the University of Toronto and lives in rural Ontario with her husband, composer Christos Hatzis. Their home includes a percussion studio that can finally fit all of her exotic instruments!

Canada’s foremost flutist Susan Hoeppner is appreciated for being a ‘born soloist’ (Globe & Mail,) where ‘one can almost hear the words in her flute song’ (The Washington Post.) Susan Hoeppner maintains a busy schedule as an international solo recitalist and chamber musician. She was recently nominated for a JUNO award, this country’s highest musical honour, for her most recent recording ‘American Flute Masterpieces.’
