Jazz Greats

Saturday, Sept 20, 2 pm, St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Owen Sound

Lovers of jazz and extraordinary musicianship will not want to miss this one-of-a-kind concert featuring four of Canada’s premier interpreters of the art form.  Composer and pianist Braid, violinist Jurecka and bassist Phillips are returning SweetWater favourites, and are joined this year by trumpeter Brad Turner.  At last year’s jazz performance featuring Drew Jurecka, people had to be turned away at the door. . .don’t let this happen to you!  Get your tickets early!

Leslie Newman (flute), the St. Lawrence String Quartet (violins, viola, cello) and Joseph Phillips (double bass) and Kati Gleiser (piano) perform Haydn’s “Surprise” Symphony.

Music of Bach and Braid

Sunday, Sept 21, 2 pm, Roxy Theatre, Owen Sound

SweetWater goes choral with Bach’s Kaffeekantata and a world premiere from David Braid, a canata inspired by Grey County’s own Billy Bishop. Musicians include Leslie Newman, the St. Lawrence String Quartet, Hank Knox, Meredith Hall (soprano), Brad Turner (trumpet), Drew Jurecka (violin), and David Braid (piano).
