SweetWater Music Festival 2018

Celebrating a legacy of unforgettable performances, Discover tomorrow’s music stars.

SweetWater marks 15 years of world-class music from September 21 to 23. Artistic Director Mark Fewer is bringing back many SweetWater vets including James Campbell, Katie Gleiser, Matthias Maute, Guy Few, Denise Djokic, Aiyun Huang, Mark Edwards, Douglas McNabney, and Dean McNeil. Others will make their SweetWater debuts including soprano Suzie LeBlanc and Alexander Tselyakov. Plus, enjoy new music talents such as Yolanda Bruno and Quatuor Despax.

Party Like It’s 1689!

Enjoy an evening of Italian Baroque fireworks from the late 1600s featuring superstar performers Suzie LeBlanc (soprano), Matthias Maute (recorder), Mark Edwards (harpsichord), Mark Fewer (violin),)

Brave New World II

(Saturday Matinee), 4 p.m., Roxy Theatre, Owen Sound

Take a Hitchcockian journey… Canadian composer Nicole Lizée’s landmark work for film Hitchcock Etudies (multimedia work with film) featuring percussionist Aiyun Huang.

An upbeat mix of classics and Brazilian jazz featuring James Campbell (clarinet), Graham Campbell (guitar), Quatuor Despax (violin, viola, cello), Joseph Phillips (bass), and Dean McNeil (trumpet)

Sunday, September 23

Out With a Bang

(Sunday Matinee Finale), 2 p.m. , Roxy  Theatre, Owen Sound

General Admission – $35   Students – $30

SweetWater rookies Alexander Tesleyakov (piano) and Yolanda Bruno (violin) join Festival veterans like Denise Djokic (cello), Douglas McNabney (viola), Kati Gleiser (piano), and Mark Fewer (violin) for a big finish performance.
